Already established as a theatre director, William Oldroyd turned his hand to film in 2013 and is now making waves with his debut feature length project Lady Macbeth.

Hot on the heels of its debut at the Toronto Film Festival, Oldroyd has been snapped up by top talent agents WME, and the period tragedy - starring talented rising star Florence Pugh - is now being line-up for an awards season release (exact date tbc). Oldroyd was previously a Director in Residence at the Young Vic Theatre in London, where he staged contemporary adaptations of European classics, before winning the Sundance London Short Film Competition in 2013 with his piece, Best. With the release of Lady Macbeth, the British director has now attracted the attention of Hollywood and more high profile projects look set to follow.
